Recosyn is an innovative, sterile, viscoelastic solution designed to provide pain relief and improved mobility for patients with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis. The main active ingredient, sodium hyaluronate, is a natural component of synovial fluid and plays a crucial role in the lubrication and shock absorption of joints.
Properties:
Active ingredient concentration: Sodium hyaluronate: 10 mg/ml. This means that each milliliter of solution contains 10 milligrams of the active ingredient. Molecular weight: The molecular weight of the sodium hyaluronate in Recosyn is between 1.6 and 2.1 million daltons. A higher molecular weight contributes to the solution's viscoelasticity and lubricity. Duration of effect: The effects of Recosyn, such as pain relief and improved joint mobility, can last for up to six months after a full treatment course. However, this depends on individual factors such as the severity of the osteoarthritis and the physical activity of the patient. Treatment course: A typical treatment course consists of three to five injections, each administered once a week. The exact number of injections is determined by the treating physician based on the specific needs of the patient. pH: The solution has a pH of 7.2 (with a tolerance range of 6.8 to 7.4).
